Grandma and Grandpa

It's been a lot of fun for Cami and me travelling with Grandma and Grandpa.

Zion National Park

After Bryce we headed down 89 to Mt. Carmel Junction and then over to Zion National Park. I had not been in Zion for a long time, and had forgotten how stunningly beautiful it is.

Bryce Canyon

Yesterday started with a trip out to Bryce Canyon National Park. The group kind of split up with some of us going ahead, eating at Ruby's Inn, and then going on out to the park. Others skipped the park, so they came out to eat a little later. The park was beautiful and I'll post some pictures of it.

Ruby's Inn

For breakfast this morning we drove out to Ruby's Inn. They have a breakfast buffet there that is pretty good. Ruby's Inn is right next to Bryce Canyon National Park. A group of us (those who wanted to see Bryce Canyon) drove out earlier than the others, had breakfast, and then went into the Park. It was a good way to start the morning.

The Christening

So, the last event of the night last night was the christening of four Bar-T members with their new Bar-T names. Grandpa Stoker is "Toyz" because of all the many toys that were mentioned in his recent profile posted on the Bar-T website. Todd was named "Pinky", because he got a pink t-shirt. Jim was named "the Godfather". I have no idea why. Neal was named "Booger". I can only guess why.

These guys have each been on five Bar-T rides. Steve, who did the christening, put cinnamon rolls in their mouths and they couldn't touch them with their hands until everybody else had eaten a donut. Kind of silly, but it was fun.

a picture for you

<<IMG_0048.jpg>> So, here we are safe in Panguitch. It was 22 degrees
here this morning. We're hoping for a little warmer morning tomorrow.
This car is parked out front of our motel. The Jazz are losing, we're
sleepy. We're heading to bed. Oh, by the way, we didn't get here at
midnight, we got here at about 4:30 this afternoon.

Big Rock Candy Mountain

That's right! We're at big rock candy mountain. We're stopping about every thirty miles, which is nice on our butts, but it might be midnight before we get to Panguitch.

Lunch at Mom's Café

We've stopped at Mom's café in Salina for lunch. Everything looks great. At the table next to us is another group of bikers, including former Chief Justice Michael Zimmerman and Judge Timothy Hanson (of the Third District Court). We thought about fighting with them but decided against it. Maybe next time.

The group is here.

Noime to write much now. We're on our way.

Nice Wedding - Beautiful Temple

The wedding was very nice. And the temple was beautiful as always. It was kind of chilly this morning, especially in the shade of Spanish Fork Canyon. Once we got into the sun thins started to warm up substantially. The drive through the fields of Indianola, Fairview, and the Sanpete valley. It's going to be a beautiful day!

Hittin' the Road

Well, were off on another great motorcycle trip. This morning we first head to Manti for Hailey Matthews' wedding. After the wedding we'll join up with the Bar-T Riders and head to Panguitch, then on through Southern Utah. I'll try to keep everyone posted on our progress as we go along.
